What the hell is Emoji? Emoji are Japanese emoticons specifically for mobile phones, which up until now have been for use in Japan only.
Did you know that you can view Emoji on your iPhone? If you aren’t in Japan or have a friend in Japan then probably not. If you haven’t come across Emoji before here’s what some of them look like:
The good news is that now you can get Emoji on your iPhone to send to other iPhones!
The process is pretty simple too but to help you out here’s what you do:
First up go download Spell Number – Emoji for FREE from the iTunes App Store. (Here’s the link)
Once you’ve got it on your iPhone start it up and enter 9876543.21
Now press the ‘home’ button and go to:
Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> International Keyboards -> Japanese -> Emoji "On"
Now when composing an SMS, e-mail, tweet or just entering text select the globe in between “123” and “space” and you’re good to go.
There are a number of reasons why I don’t do Facebook. One of those reasons is that Facebook gathers all of your personal data and will one day use it for world domination. It may not happen tomorrow but trust me it will happen.
Did you know that by accepting the terms of service (you know that check box you probably don’t remember checking…?) you allow Facebook to have full license to your content?
Don’t believe me? Well from the terms of service under Licences:
You hereby grant Facebook an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid, worldwide license (with the right to sublicense) to (a) use, copy, publish, stream, store, retain, publicly perform or display, transmit, scan, reformat, modify, edit, frame, translate, excerpt, adapt, create derivative works and distribute (through multiple tiers), any User Content you (i) Post on or in connection with the Facebook Service or the promotion thereof subject only to your privacy settings or (ii) enable a user to Post, including by offering a Share Link on your website and (b) to use your name, likeness and image for any purpose, including commercial or advertising, each of (a) and (b) on or in connection with the Facebook Service or the promotion thereof.
Now this should already be enough to make you reconsider posting that picture of your friend passed out at a party with a big veiny cock drawn on their arm in marker with the words “you complete me” but If not, than have a look at this…
Facebook recently changed their terms of service and added the following under Termination and Changes to the Facebook Service:
The following sections will survive any termination of your use of the Facebook Service: Prohibited Conduct, User Content, Your Privacy Practices, Gift Credits, Ownership; Proprietary Rights, Licenses, Submissions, User Disputes; Complaints, Indemnity, General Disclaimers, Limitation on Liability, Termination and Changes to the Facebook Service, Arbitration, Governing Law; Venue and Jurisdiction and Other.
So essentially Facebook owns all of your shit today, tomorrow and forever even when you do finally see the light and cancel your Facebook account.
Does having your content owned by Facebook for eternity and to be used however the hell they want sound like a fair deal to you?
Hi all just a quick post to show you what bands I will be hitting up for soundwave in a few weeks time. If you have any recomendations where you can see a free slot please let me know.

I’m not quite sure what Joaquin’s deal is here and some people are saying that it was staged but either way it makes for some great viewing.
For more platinum Letterman check out when Paris Hilton was on back in 2007.

Apparently the ex keyboardist of Operator Please, Sarah Gardiner has entered the world of porn.
After Gardiner’s departure from the band late last year it’s been alleged that she has posed for the amateur porn site Abbey Winters under the alias of Tracia L.
While I was initially sceptical about the story, so far there’s been no denial from the band or Sarah and I have to admit that the pictures do look pretty authentic.
If you can stomach them then go check out the censored pics here & make up your own mind.
P.S. This story has left me hope that the Operator Please violinist may follow a similiar career path.
This one wasn’t on my radar but with the comedic stylings of Jack Black, Michael Cera, Paul Rudd and David Cross it’s now got my attention.
So as Australia Day passes in another drunken stupor so does another Hottest 100.
A list of the hottest 100 songs from 2008 voted by one of the largest sample groups going around still leads to a massive amount of debate on what songs made it, where it made it and where it didn’t.
On a whole I was extremely happy with the Hottest 100 although the top 5 were pretty much set in stone before it even begun. Saying that the songs that did make it there were well deserved even though they were flogged on the radio to no end. Hearing them still resulted in everyone in listening vicinity to sing the shit out of all said songs reinforcing their position at the top of the pile.
One band that missed the cut surprisingly was Coldplay with Viva La Vida. Now this is a band that has made its presence felt in the Hottest 100 many times before and I was a little shocked to find out that they missed out. But I only noticed this after having it brought to my attention which shows the caliber of the Hottest 100 as one of the best so far where such a massive band can go unnoticed.
The full list can be found here and if you have a what.cd account a sweet collage of albums can be found here.
What did you think of the hottest 100 for 2008? Love it? Hate it? Can’t believe (insert song here) made it where it did?
