I’m really stoked with the release list in general. I’m really excited about the 1990′s as they’re all the original versions of great songs from a lot of classic bands that I grew up listening to. The 2000′s list also appeals to me as I’m a fan of The Strokes, QOTSA, The Killers and Fallout Boy. While I’m not very knowledgeable about pre-80′s music I’m sure there’s a lot of tracks that I’ve probably heard before and just don’t know it. The inclusion of Epic from Faith No More is sure to please a lot of old school music fans as well.
Since I won’t be purchasing GH3 I’m really looking forward to this game. The presence of lead and bass guitars, drum set, vocals (ala singstar) and a fully fledged career mode should make this game a proper rock star experience. As I’ve always liked hitting shit I’ll definitely be purchasing the drum kit as it seems like a natural progression for me.
I would be interested to know if there are other hundredpennies fans out there that are looking forward to this game as much as I am. Feel free to leave a comment on all things Rock Band related. In particular which of these tracks appeals to you, which ones do you think should have been included and which version (Guitars, mic, drums) of the game will you be purchasing?
Here’s something for you if you haven’t got much planed for the weekend…
The demo for Guitar Hero III is available for download right here right now.
All you need to do is burn this to a CD or DVD and pop it into your XBOX 360. Now it won’t play from the disk drive as a normal game would, you need to go to the game blade and then demos.
As with all things that you download from the interweb please use with caution.
Now excuse me while I go put on my spandex pants and mullet wig.
edit: This works on your stock standard XBOX 360. No hardware modding required.
Hot off the press, so hot in fact that there really isn’t too much information available but the important thing is that Free Radical have announced that TimeSplitters which is one of my all time favorite games and arguably one of the best first person and multiplayer shooters will be back in a fourth installment and I couldn’t be happier.
Many many many hours have been spent playing TimeSplitters on both the XBOX and PS2 and I can’t wait to play this in all of it’s high def next gen glory.
Free Radical announcement can be found here.

Word is that Puzzle Quest is coming to XBOX Live Arcade this Wednesday and if you haven’t played Puzzle Quest on either the DS, PSP or PC now is your chance! I’ve been a huge fan of this game on the DS for a long time now and has helped me pass many hours of my spare time. It does come with a hefty (for XBOX Live Arcade) price of 1200 points however seeing that this game is heaps more on the DS and PSP it’s a good buy and highly recommend it to anyone who likes puzzle games with a little bit of adventure!

I went and bought the XBOX 360 Chatpad (above) and have been playing with it over the last 24 hours and thought I’d post my thoughts…
- Fits like a glove and once attached feels like it’s part of the original controller.
- Could be pretty hard to remove.
- Adds a little bit of weight to the controller but nothing to worry about.
- Even though the chatpad is raised and fills in the bottom of the controller you don’t even know it’s there. In fact the raised area provides a good place to rest your palms.
- Keypad has a great feel with the buttons big enough for fat fingers.
- Backlight is a nice and unexpected feature.
- Integration with XBOX while playing a DVD or game is superb. Totally adds a new level to messaging on the 360.
- Got yet another headset bundled to add to the pile however this one is a little different due to the input on the chatpad.
- Bundled headset sucks as the volume and mute function is now under your chin meaning that you now have to move your hand from the controller which is further than you used too. I just don’t get it. Lucky I have a wireless headset.
Dragonforce’s “Through the Fire and the Flames” for Guitar Hero III. I don’t know about you but that looks pretty tricky…
So I’ve been playing The Settlers of Catan on XBOX Live Arcade pretty much whenever I get a free moment over the last week or so.
From what I am aware, Catan is a board game created in Germany around 1995.
The game itself reminded me of Civilization and Age of Empires which are both two games that got more than their fair share of my time where you start off with not with not a lot and need to build up your resources requiring some luck and a lot of strategy.
So because I’ve been obsessed with the version on XBOX Live Arcade I went out and found the original board game and bought a copy.
While in the puzzle shop I also found out that there are expansion packs to which include the ability to have larger maps and more players and scenarios.
The standard game requires a minimum of three players and a maximum of four, so I’m hoping I can find a couple of people who are willing to set aside some time to learn this great game have a play.
i’m a very indecisive person 99% 90% 95% of the time where i either cannot make up my mind or once i’ve made a decision i wish it was the ‘other’
this happened to me on the weekend in making a purchase for my birthday present from me to me. i was set on one option had to wait a minute and within that minute my mind had changed. in the end i just had to go with a gut / reflex instinct where i ended up purchasing the item that i liked ‘at that momemt’
anyway something that has bothered me for a long time is my gamertag on xbox live. a gamertag is your id to the gaming world and everwhere i look on xbox live i see sweet gamertags that are original and interesting.
i have already changed my gamertag from liptonrod to the current igav and want to change it again to the ‘ultimate gamertag’ that fits me.
seeing that i can’t make decisions and am also a rather unimaginative being i would like to throw it out there to the general public to suggest a suitable gamertag for me.
leave a comment with your suggestions and hopefully a nugget of gold will be polished and left waiting for me to pick it up and make it my own.
cheers

There are certain things that have the power to take you back to your childhood in an instant.
Being a 25 (oops… almost) year old self-proclaimed geek with the mind of a 14 year old I may be taken back more easily than others.
So it was on Saturday Friday night during a Wii session that I noticed that ExciteBike was available for purchase and download for the Virtual Console.
This game holds a very special place in my heart as it was one of the first games I had ever played on the Nintendo Entertainment System and also the first time I ever did an ‘all nighter’ playing games.
For a game that is incredibly simple I find it almost impossible to put down and stop playing.
