Talk about a total contrast, last night I went to see The Academy is… and a band by the name of Cobra Starship who you might know had the title song from hit movie Snakes on a Plane. I am just going to say right now that I have never seen a band suck so much and try so hard to win some fans. I have been to a few shit shows in my time (Blink 182 anyone?) but Cobra Gayship were just plan crap. How could the man behind one of my favorite bands (Midtown) produce such shit music? I think the below quote from how the band Cobra Starship started will say it all “Saporta sought out to discover his true purpose and meaning in the desert of Arizona. On one distinct night, a snake – more befittingly, a cobra – bit his neck, and upon waking up, told him of the eventual demise of the world and mankind. The mystifying cobra foretold the eventual frontman of his mission and point of existence – leading the human race into the end with style.” All I can say is do not listen to this band they suck and Gabe you suck.

The Academy Is… totally rocked they were well above what I was expecting. The sound quality was great they had a wonderful stage presence and if it was not for Cobra Gayship I would say they would have made the top 3 shows of the year. Unfortunately I have had to mark the show down because they wanted to bring Cobra Gayship along for the ride and they just suck. Overall I give this show 5/10. 5/5 for The Academy Is… and 0/5 for Cobra Gayship. For anyone who does not know The Academy is… check out the below clip.

I’m a little disturbed that the iPhone spews black blood like some kind of demon when put in a blender.

For the first time ever, the Richmond Football Club has notched up over 30,000 members.
I thought it was a little amusing that what has to be one of the clubs worst seasons to date they have the most members ever which shows the support that the fans like myself have in the club come rain hail or shine.
Here’s hoping for a better second half of the season and an ever better season in 08.

Last night I went to witness the last game the Dees would play under Neale Daniher. All I can say is this match summed up why it was time for the club and Neale to move on. Inconsistency has been Neale’s legacy during his 10 years with the Dees and the stats show it all. 1998 made the finals finishing 4th on the ladder and making the preliminary final and loosing to the Roos. 1999 we slipped to 14th on the ladder. 2000 we finished 3rd and lost to Essendon in the last grand final to feature all Melbourne clubs this would be Neale’s best season with the club. In 2001 we finished 11th. 2002 we finished 6th but then again in 2003 14th. 2004 we made it to 5th and made the final’s each season until this year however in 2004 and 2005 we lost in the first round of the finals after have great mid season’s but falling into a hole at the end of the season.

Last night was 10 years all in one game. Don’s went on an 8 goal to 2 run smashing us in the first. We then managed 7 goals to 4 in the second and 7 goals to 2 in the 3rd. Then as only the Dees can we could only manage 2 goals in the last to the Don’s 5 loosing the game by 2 points and putting an end to our season.

I am going to say to all you tippers not to tip us again this season all the players will be playing for contracts and we will not win another game all year and I feel we will manage our first wooden spoon since 1997 coincidently the same year Neil Balme got the chop in the middle of the season.
