I’m not a huge fan of Cricket but if what I saw during last night’s match between Australia and India becomes a regular occurrence I’ll be watching a whole lot more of the ‘Gentleman’s Game’.
Although news this morning is that Andrew Symonds could face assault charges for what can only be described as a perfect hip and shoulder.
‘Cmon the guy was interrupting the game and Symonds was just taking the necessary means required to get the game going again. It just also happened to create excellent viewing.
So I started to watch Fully Flared and popped the disc into my XBOX 360 and was greeted with the image above.
For those who haven’t had the pleasure of visiting me at ‘The Lodge’ I have the exact same TV as the one pictured which caused my brain to turn to shit as I saw two TVs, one inside of the other.
I’ve tried skateboarding a couple of times and failed miserably, once landing on my keys and hacky-sac and another time cracking my head on a half pipe which led to me realizing that I should take it up as a spectator sport only.
With this I developed an interest in skating videos mainly for the production value and choice of soundtrack as this is just as important as the skating itself.
Enter the intro to Fully Flared presented by Lakai Limited Footwear. This is by far one of the best intros I have ever seen and one of the best sports/action videos ever. The frame rate of the super slow footage is smooth like butter and captures not only the action and explosives but every minute move a skateboarder makes while performing a trick.
Directed by Ty Evans, Spike Jonze and Cory Weincheque I have watched the clip above about seven times and convinced that I need to have this DVD.
So I put my cap on sideways and pulled my jeans down to show more than enough boxer short and headed off to my local skate shop. A few minutes later and several dollars mind you (this shit is not cheap! i should’ve hopped on amazon.com or something) I now have Fully Flared in my sweaty paws.
I’m still to watch it but from what I have read and heard it is one of the best skating videos made in a very long time and sets the bar for production value etc.
Love it or hate it you have to agree that the intro above is pretty badass.
Back in my day we didn’t have MyFace and SpaceBook so we never had 500+ people show up to a party and trash the neighbourhood. Also back in my day we wore t-shirts and didn’t wear our winter woolies in the middle of summer and don’t get me started on the glasses. This guy is an A grade Douche and I think my be related to Warrick Capper. Anyway the above video is good for a laugh and also as an educational guide on how to conduct the perfect interview.
So, Bill Gates will be finishing up as a full time employee at Microsoft later this year and during his keynote at CES he played a rather humorous video about his last day.
Well I’ve just arrived in Adelaide after 2 days on the road and initially things didn’t go as planned. This trip was originally planned as a way of collecting all the Craick family together for Christmas in Adelaide. However my uncle and his family from America had to cancel their trip as he ended up losing his green card and had to cancel his plane tickets.
While my other 2 brothers also opted to bail I decided that I would only be sitting on my arse played xbox for the rest of the holidays so I decided to go ahead with the trip.
Following a chaotic Christmas day at my dad and step mums place (I don’t like mingling with people I only meet once a year) we headed off to Adelaide in my dad’s Toyota Prius on Boxing day.
The first day was mainly filled with reading a book and passing through a number of boring country towns but we eventually finished in Horsham. Following a good dinner at the local RSL we all heading off to bed at about 10pm (I don’t think I’ve been to bed at this time before) at the Darlot motor inn, which creepily looked a lot like the Bates hotel. After one of my worst nights sleep ever (brought about by my dads snoring) we headed off on our second leg to Adelaide.
To help pass the time and to tune out my dads idle chit chat I decided to listen to my ipod (plug). However after only about an hour of play it just froze on me. While this had happened to me a couple of times It was usually remedied with a quick hardware reset via a couple of button presses. Unfortunately this solution didn’t fix the problem and I wondered if it might be a problem with the battery. I then plugged it into my new eeepc to try and recharge it, but this only resulted in the ipod emitting an ominous clicking sound from the hardrive. Following a bit of fiddling around I came to the conclusion that my ipod was now stuffed and I would have to send it off for a repair.
My eeepc then preceded to overheat after I inadvertently shoved it in my bag following an improper shutdown. Since the manual had specifically warned transferring the PC while operational it came as no surprise that it was hot enough to fry some bacon & eggs on it after I uncovered it an hour later. I’ve since managed to get it started again and am writing this post on it on hoping that the heat hasn’t done any permanent damage.
Anyway following all these technical difficulties I eventually arrived in boring bright Adelaide and am actually having a rather relaxing time. What’s not to like? Drinking coopers and eating my curly (some Scottish thing) during my second Christmas day dinner for the holidays. This hot weather is also going to be great for watching Australia hopefully thrash India in the test cricket.
Just thought I would throw the word out that it’s threadless sale time again. Currently all stock is only $US 10 and even though the exchange rate has dropped again (.89, last time I checked), it’s still a bargain at ~$Au 11 for some great T-shirts. As it’s a holiday sale they’ve printed a number of past, present and new designs that will be on sale till December 16th.
While I recently picked up 6 T’s before the sale I just couldn’t help myself and had to order 3 more despite the extra shipping cost. Since I can’t post which ones I’ve brought under the threadless link on hundredpennies I’ll put them in this post, so make sure you don’t choose the same designs as me.
