If you are wondering if your current computer will be able to run Windows Vista wonder no more!
If you head on over to microsoft.com you can now download the Windows Vista Upgrade Adviser that will pretty much give you a yay or nay on your computer and components lettng you know if you need to upgrade or how much eye candy you’ll get.
It also suggests what version of Vista that would be most suited to you. I’m not quite sure why there’s 27 different versions of Vista but I’m sure there’s a very good reason…

Apple has released 6 new ads in the hope of getting more ‘switchers’ from PCs to Macs.
You may notice that the ‘Mac’ is Warren from Ed or ‘That Dude’ from DodgeBall. He makes a pretty good Mac and the ads are pretty funny and play on the Mac vs PC thing…
Mac: “Hello, I’m a Mac”
PC: “And I’m a PC”
Mac: “Oh, hey… iPod, nice.”
PC: “Yeah, just a little something to hold my slowjam”
Mac: “Oh ya?”
PC: “And it works so seemlessly with iTunes”
Mac: “You should check out iMovie, iPhoto, iWeb cause they all work like iTunes. You know, iLife. It comes on every Mac”

I really do hope these ads bring more switchers to the Apple community because Macs are just better… and if you disagree you’re a fuckwit.

It’s been a little quiet on the XBOX 360 modding scene for quite a while due to Microsoft learning from their mistakes and putting in some pretty good security to stop people from modding it.
Until now…
Over the last couple of days someone has been able to hack the DVD drive firmware so that it bypasses the security check done by the XBOX 360 firmware and allow you to play ‘backed up’ games.
This is a pretty good mod as for the time being it seems that it is hard to tell if the mod has been applied and will still let you use XBOX Live. The question is, is there a way Microsoft can counter this? Some people are saying no but I guess time will tell.

Oh yeah an in case you’ve never seen spicks and specks, check it out on ABS @ 8:30 on Wed night. It’s a good music quiz show with quirky games thrown in. Some weeks it can be crap depending on the guests they have on and the games they’re playing.
The BBC show the extras is also really good. The 1st episode has ben stiller in it and its hilarious. Check it out it you like real comedy (Without bloody canned laughter which americans need so they know when to laugh).

Been playing around with the beta of Internet Explorer 7 and it’s quite a surprise!
I thought I would have been back to Firefox after about 15 minutes but I’m still here…
I suggest you try it out if you have a widescreen display because it just works.
Microsoft haven’t reinvented the wheel here, they’ve just taken a few good ideas and a couple of their own and put it together into a half decent package.
Try it out and let me know what you think, I’m liking it for the timebeing but I guess time will tell…
