  • Did you say pink headphones? Sold. I love HundredPennies.

Good rant gents. Distracted me nicely from a night of study.

Not sure about the accuracy of the digg bar ad revenue comments though Stu. http://blog.digg.com/?p=636

While on the digg bar, I did like seeing how many people viewed a story vs dug a story when it first came out. But then, once you see a few numbers you realise that the majority of people like pointless celebrity stories and cute pictures. Unfortunately most media will tend to appeal to the greatest audience, and if the majority of people like looking at pictures of kittens, we’ll get more pictures of kittens.

The idea of social editorial is a good one, but there is also a good reason why most reputable media pay someone to decide what stories will be published.

For some reason, I just can’t help but think about that movie Idiocracy [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/].

Back to study important shit, like identifying and recognising embedded derivatives.

  • Neighbours acting never went “up” a hill to come down boys

  • Thanks for the comments and listening gents.

  • I love hundredpennies!

  • I love HundredPennies.

    It’s funny ‘cos it’s true.

  • First time listener, long time fan.
Really enjoyed your rants, especially regarding twitter. Whilst i didn’t agree with your underlying connotations that the internet and relevant tools should be reserved for the technically minded, I did agree with the stupidity of the popularity contests and useless posts from those that need gratification from the internets.
Whilst I agree with your thoughts, I also propose that the issues you raise with twitter and the Digg Bar are the price we pay for freedom. My personal view is that whilst I would prefer to only source selected content relevant to me, and never see half of the shit the internet serves up, I would not deny anyone the freedom to use the internets as they see fit. The positive thing about this populous saturation is that you will find new and often more advanced/improved solutions are developed by people with the same concerns that you have, that we will inevitably take up and jump onto until they come to the same saturation point and the cycle starts again. This cycle is key to innovation and progression and I would much prefer to forever be annoyed and frustrated with other peoples stupidity than for our culture to remain stagnant and not progress.
I really enjoyed the podcast, Keep up the good work.

  • Yes to a new pair of headphones! I love HundredPennies.
I think the rant went a bit too long, but overall gave a very good coverage.
The recording works well on speakers, but I noticed some scratchy noise (especially with s’s) while listening with my earphone.
Keep up the good work guys!

  • I love HundredPennies.

    I can has?

  • Hi all thanks for listening to our show. Also thanks for some of the feedback comments. As per Ep29 and 30 we are giving away some in ear headphones and we will be putting all your names in a hat and drawing out a winner in the next few days. We will then be in contact with the winner to get an address to send them out.

    Once again thanks.

  • Any FTA TV is good. Keeps our lives “somewhat” interesting when other options are not as accessible. Who doesnt love free? Haha.

Oh and to end …. I love HundredPennies! :P
