Empireonline are currently featuring a list of the best TV shows of all time as voted by the people.
It’s definitely worth a look as they give a brief rundown of some truly memorable shows as well as listing a favorite episode & some trivia (Did you know that Deadwood used the word fuck & it’s derivatives 2,980 times during it’s 3 seasons?).
I covers a variety of genres and a good selection of old & new shows that will bring back the memories. It’ll probably come as no surprise which took the top position (Hint:Animation), but I was happy that five of my favorite were in the top 10. Go The Wire!
I guess I’m just not a TV person. I couldn’t name 50 TV shows, let alone a top 50. Buffy at #2? Gimme a break!

I’m a bit surprised that The Biggest Loser, My kid wants to be a star & Gladiators didn’t get a mention. TV gold right there.

Straight up a pretty good list covering some of the best shows (hence the list!) but I have issue with the order of the list…
The Shield came in at number 22 which is obviously an error as The Shield is the best show of all time. I’m disappointed that The Wire came higher in the list as it is a great show but compared to The Shield….? No contest.
Another thing that gets my goat is with Arrested Development coming in at 18. With Friends ranking higher something is not quite right here.
Also are Lost and Heroes really that good? I’ve watched both and stopped mid season two (coincidence?) as they turned to poo.
This list does remind me to actually sit down and watch Buffy, The X Files, Seinfeld, Spaced and many other great shows from start to finish.

Yeah, I would agree with Stu. In fact I would go as far to say that The Wire is my favorite show of all time (Big call, but it’s that damn good). Can’t wait to start watching the 5th and final series.
