My Fifth Season

Great news!

The new fifth season of Scrubs will begin on the 3rd of January 2006.
I wasn’t expecting this from Fox seeing that they seem to have no idea about television programming.
Fox just went up one notch in my books. They are now on notch one.

vroom & dreesmann

yo chumps in oz, ’twas only yesterday myself and the boys headed into the hoog catherijne to find a copy of trivial pursuit to cure our boredom and desire to impress out peers with our abilities in retaining useless information, only to find that vroom & doormann stocks only copies of T.P. in dutch, so that was the end of that plan. instead we picked up a copy of rummikub – travel edition, which i had never heard of. to my surprise, after the usual beginners difficulties, i give it two thumbs up, top game. after the purchase of the product, it occured to me that our very own lipton rod had asked my very self to try out an xbox 360 machine if possible. low and behold the section of vroom and doormann that we were standing in just happened to contain one test machine for the 360! well fuck my ass and call me a bitch. the consensus: a little hard to give after only 30 seconds of play as the game that was on offer was a cross between ‘tomb raider’ and ‘the little pixies’ so, obviously, it was shit. but, on the upside, the machine produces graphics that are chopin for the eyes. crystal clear HD visuals that are as smooth as michael chiklis’ head. the controller is getting more like a PS2 controller in terms of button layout, only retained in a more original xbox – batman symbol style handpiece so it is still pleasant to use. the white colours give the machine a totally new look, more like the way an iBook shits over PCs in terms of looks and clean lines, although the machine it’s self is still quite large. but then again, it must take some room to squeeze in all that hardware. as for sound, i am not sure there, as the middle of vroom and doormann isn’t the ideal place to check out how a soundcard does it’s job. the only problem i can see is that it may require the use of an HDTV to get the best out of this white knight. no doubt should definetly be worth the money, depends on the games, naturally, and level of ‘tweakability’. two thumbs up!
