well before i start this post HUGE shout out to the guys at warcom.com.au who promptly hook me up with all my wireless shit. check em out, they’re cheap as and delivery within 24 hours.
anyway ‘the lodge’ is now 100% wireless! wah hoo mother fuckers!
i still need to to a little tweaking to improve some of the speeds and reception but that’s just a little fine tuning nothing major.
so now i am able to do the following…
- stream phat tunes to the stereo via iTunes
- watch all of my tv shows and shit wirelessly on the XBox via XBMC
- surf, share and do whatever the fuck i want from any computer wirelessly!
- all be afraid of filezilla the gatekeeper of files
well tv seems to be kickin it up a gear overseas and this is what i’m currently watching…
- The OC - Season 3
- American Dad - Season 2
- Family Guy - Season 5
- Arrested Development - Season 3
- My Name Is Earl - Season 1
- Navy NCIS - Season 3
- Lost - Season 2
- Everybody Hates Chris - Season 1
I think that’s about it for now, if anyone knows of any other great shows worth watching please let me know!
Kyle Sandilands you are one sad unit my friend
Being someone who is in the public eye and ear coming across as ‘the man in music’ I was absolutely amazed and fuckin amused when I read in the paper this morning that you do not know the eternal rock classic by Queen ‘We Will Rock You’ after one of the idol hopefuls performed it!
First up was Dan England who went for Queen’s We Will Rock You, a largely-acoustic number until the final few seconds, which was picked up on by Idol judge Kyle Sandilands.
“I really think you did a crap job of it,” Kyle said, despite not knowing the song.
Idol judge Mark Holden sniped at Kyle for his ignorance and told Dan: “That needed to be 11 and that was nine.”
just watched the first episode of the second season of lost and how doody what a great start to the new season.
i was pissed off after enduring the whole first season to be left stranded (no pun intended) with such a dull cliffhanger i was reluctent to continue watching with the fear of being dissapointed
i won’t go into detail because i don’t want to spoil it for people but shit if you watched the first season of lost please keep watching as it looks like things are only getting better
if you haven’t watched lost yet get you hands on it (email me if you need to be hooked up) and set aside a couple of days
you’ll thank me for it

amen spider let the boy play!
and seeing that there’s an eagles player up for suspension also for the same type of charge (in demerit points and weeks of suspension) why don’t they just wipe the slate clean for both players let them play in the grand final and be done with it…?
NEWS FLASH : Barry’s back baby! He’s good to play in the grand final come Saturday! Woo Fuckin Hoo!
Congrats to Ben Cousins for winning the Chas Brownlow Trophy for 2005. I’m sure it must have been a spectacular season for him, as they don’t give these medals away (ok they might have in 2003). The only experience I have with West Coast was when Collingwood (then last) managed to topple the top team! But anyway, enough talk about Collingwood’s one and only triumph of the year.
Naturally the Brownlow action was a little thin on the ground over here in sunny Utrecht, but thanks to Stu for the round-by-round updates, cheers bro.
Now, only one day in September left…..(and my birthday, so two days really)
hels and i are now the proud parents of mork and mindy our new 4GB ipod nanos and we couldn’t be happier!
i knew that the nano was pretty awesome after seeing it in the shop but to hold that little bugger in your hands is just something else
so now i’ve got my tunes on the go 24/7 (something i could not do with the 3G 30GB ipod as it is too big to have with me 24/7) all i need now is the lanyard which is available on the 7th of october and a protective case which is available the 29th of september…
so anyway i’ve been looking into podcasts now that i’ve got the nano and i didn’t realise how many there were!
i tried to look at what was available however 97% of what’s available is shit (reminds me of pay tv) so i’ve gone with a couple of ‘generic’ podcasts ie dr karl, this week in tech, itunes new music tuesday and a couple of other geek ones…
one that i found that i haven’t listened to so i can’t really judge is by mark from blink 182 so i’ll let you know how that goes.
if anyone knows of some good podcasts please let me know, would love to have a punk emo type podcast that plays new tracks and new bands so that i can broaden my musical horizon as you will
hels and i went to see the dukes of hazzard tonight for a little bit of light entertainment
not a bad flick, heaps of car chases, blaze of glory, and red necks as far as the eye can see
i swear willy nelson was either a puppet or some bad cgi because he didn’t look real and i don’t think i actually saw a full body profile of him throughout the whole movie
anyway for what it is it’s pretty good entertainment
3 and a half thumbs up
just read that green day will be doing a gig at telstra dome in december (linky)
obviously this marks the end of ever having the chance to see these guys in a decent venue like festival hall (which i did in 1998) as there is no way in hell that i would go see a concert at telstra dome with 50000 other people heck i hate going to rod laver and avoid it as much as i can because of ‘all the people’!
oh well these things happen and it’s a cryin shame but what you gonna do?
Well, the world wakes up today with the knowledge that Australia have lost the Ashes, after 16 years of total dominance. It may seem a little a slight over-exaggeration to compare this event with 9/11 or even WWII, but for me losing to England, no matter what the occasion is a total disaster.
I declare a day of mourning for the 13th of September.
RIP Australian Cricket
