something i’ve noticed more and more with the standard free to air tv stations in australia (…i’m looking at you channel 10) is the false hype that they build around shows or the fact that they give away major plots or surprises in their promos!
most of this anger comes from channel 10 and the oc… ok ok ok so there was a little ‘girl on girl action’ for about 45 seconds all up in the second season around the 13th episode mark (don’t quote me on that…)
so how come i see channel 10 promoting the new season of the oc with MASSIVE ads promising ‘GIRL ON GIRL ACTION!’ ?
this pisses me off in more ways than one, as it is not entirely true and totally trying to play the ‘porno card’ that channel 10 seem to like dealing more and more often these days.
the other reason is for all of the 14 – 16 year olds who are making themselves watch the oc for a little bit of ‘action’ when they could be watching sbs instead!
for fucks sake channel 10 stop being such a tease!
also please don’t show in the promos for the oc a car crash which in context of the episode is a major shock and surprise in the story line.
now people are going to be expecting it you fucknuts.

went to the evelyn on friday night with hels , pete and lorna to see a few bands and sink a few brews.
all bands put on a top show with personal highlight being irrelvant.
i haven’t seen these guys before or listened to their album from start to finish but fuck me man what an awesome band and what an awesome set!
these guys rocked hard and had energy a plenty. haven’t seen a band get stuck into it like they did for a long time. 3 thumbs up for this one, if you missed it well tuff titties you missed a killer show

Obviously this will be at ‘The Lodge’ where I am only just around the corner from the Box Hill exchange where iiNet have their own DSLAMs allowing me to ‘hopefully’ get 12Mbps ADSL!

Well I know it’s late notice but who gives a fuck…? Tomorrow night (Friday the 24th of June) at the Evelyn on Brunswick St we farewell Sommerset who after 10 years of rocking oh so hard make a exit from the punk scene where they will be deeply missed.
Also at this show of all shows is Irrelevant who I have not had the chance to see live so another reason to look forward to this gig , Staying At Home another quality band I haven’t seen in a while so will be good to see what they have been doing… and Away From Now who just always put on a good show, haven’t seen them since Switch so will be good to hear some new stuff if I’m lucky.
Either way Friday night is going to rock your socks and jocks so turn up early as I have heard it will be a sell out… I’ll be there round 7pm out front drinking beers.

After a big weekend, alot of red wine, and about 3 hours sleep along with a visit to mums house for a family dinner, you would think the last thing i could do without falling asleep would be to go and watch a good 3 hour movie… Well i did, and i have to tell you, it was 3 hours of my life that i am glad i gave up.
BATMAN BEGINS: as the title of this post states, it is the best Batman ever! Christian Bale is equally as good as the masked avenger, and Katie holmes looks good as the love interest, but sadly her best acting was done when she was passed out from a sedative. I still think Tom is a lucky man though….
All the darkness of the comic book’s have been infused with and All Star cast, including Liam Neeson, Michael Caine and the guy from 28 days later, who by the way puts in an awesome performance as the bad guy “Scarecrow”, And Christian Bale, who if youve seen American Psycho, will understand why he probably got the part over other “Great” actors such as Ben Afleck!!!! thank god he got the part, because i dont think anyone else could have dreamed of playing the part as well as he did, very Dark and very well acted.
Just a word of warning kids. This is not a kids movie, this is very far from it. Take your little brothers and sisters along with caution, because there are parts of this movie which are actually quite scary, the parts with the Scarecrow are a good example, you will know what i mean if youve seen it.
Not only does this movie have big names, an absolutly killer storyline and an MA Rating, it also has a great comedy backdrop to go with it. Michael Caine is a pisser as bruce waynes butler, and the rest of the cast is always good for a laugh.
But i think the best thing about this movie is that there were no cheesy lines like “No, im not going to kill you, im gonna let you rot in prison” right before they help the villan to safety which eventually jeapordizes their own life! Fuck that pisses me off. Also there is no shitty love story, well there kind of is, which could have gone without, but its there, so just accept it ok!
In my opinion, this has been one of the best movies that i have seen all year, along with Garden State with Zach Braf, which is also a masterpeice.

Well I heard back from the real estate agent last night and we have been approved for the place in Box Hill.
If anyone has any objections I will start calling it ‘The Lodge’ as I think it kinda suits. And if anyone has access to a moose head or any ‘lodge like’ furnishings let me know!
Anyway we get the keys on the 1st of July and if all goes well we’ll be all moved in and cooking BBQ’s by the weekend of the 16 -17th of July.
Better get back to work…

well after a fair bit of searching (many many thanks to hels) pete , hels and myself inspected a place in box hill.
it is a very old place (we found newspapers from the 1940s in one of the cupboards) but has heaps of character and craziness.
it will be called the lodge and much cognac will be had.
there is a room called ‘the gimp’ room, it is about 1.5 x 2m and is fully carpeted. you fuck up and you may see yourself shaking up in their.

ever since watching old school i’ve had a fasination with the dan band and now all is complete as i have a copy of the dan band live and oh my god what an awesome album!

there’s a little bit of your favourite female vocal tracks covering everything from salt n pepper , abba , missy and alanis.
i shit you not this is one of the better albums i’ve heard in a long time. the mix is really good and the grove is even better making you feel you are there grindin your ass off on the dance floor.
this is something i’ll have cranked up at many bbqs to come.
