Damn Funny or Just Damn Scary

I’m currently listening to Elektronik Supersonik by Zladko “Zlad” Vladcik

Alright got two quick Clickity Click Clicks for ya…

Ill Mitch is a rapper from Russia who is trying to cut it in the USA , going to be the next BIG thing me thinks…. Click it here!

Elektronik Supersonik is one of the disqualified entrants to this years EuroVision Contest and kicked up quite a lot of controversy. I reckon there was just a little bit too much talent in this one hence the disqualification. You make your own mind. Clickity Click Click!

The Big One

I’m currently listening to Too Drunk to Drive by Bodyjar

How’s the week treatin ya? The weekend has been and gone as it usually does and Friday night was spent at the Marquee for a little bit , nothing to write home about so went home and had good sleeps. Went couch shopping again and got lost on the way… ROAD TRIP! Spent the rest of the arvo at High St Preston going in and out of shitty Asian bargin stores. Was awesome! Christian picked up a Whoopin Stick , Meat Cleaver and Two (count them one two!) Retractable Swords! Great form by the champ who is also known for buying Vampire Teeth , N Trance CD and other nuggets of gold. I went practical and bought a wok seeing that the last one rusted in the sink (serious). We asked a little old lady if they had any woks and I’ve never seen anyone look at us like utter dickheads as she yelled ‘OF COURSE WE GOT WOKS!’ and pointed to the very far back of the shop past the Whoopin Sticks and Cleavers….
Satday night was Hels friend Sarah’s 21st in Cheltenham and that was top stuff. Everyone was havin a great time and a few brews.
Went to Stu’s place Sunday arvo to say G’day and see how the trip to Sydney was and seemed like fun was had by all and all looking forward to going to work the next day… :)
Signin the lease tomorrow for the new place and gettin all that out of the way with us having keys for the weekend.
Starting to get excited now!

The Chad! The Chadmiester! Chad Chad Chadaroo!

Quick one for you all. Probably seen by most of me mates anyway but it has to be heard to be believed! One of the greatest rock bands ever (cough) have been caught out recycling the same tune but with different lyrics. Check it here and I’m sure you’ll agree that the original Paddle Pop Lion will be very disappointed.

OK all you kids who want to go overseas this is for you.

When you go overseas most people go to the UK or USA or other common akronims (I can’t spell) like NZ of France. But all you do is run into other Austrailians, this is a fact. I was in London a few months ago and I was a pub and there were more aussies that pommes. What does that say. You go OS (more akronims) to get OUT of Australia, See different things that you wouldn’t normally see on your stumble home from the pub. That is why I live here is Vadstena. A small country town in the middle of Sweden (serious) and next week I’m going to Russia thats right the home of sputnik. (history buffs back me here). I’ve seen shit that…..well just is strange. But I’ve met NO Australians, (well a few but more like 3). I went to an Australian theme pub in Göteborg. Yeah that how all our pubs are!!!!!!……………riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. But nobody knows any different. My point is children, that westen culture is pretty much the same in all english speaking countries. Everything is
roughly the same except everyone speaks wierd. Go to a non-english speaking country. have the guts. you wont regret it. (P.S. Cheesy pick up lines work coz the chick don’t really understand what you are saying, just the hints ; )

To have a home is to have a place to live

I’m currently listening to One Last Time from the album Living Well Is The Best Revenge by Midtown

Good evening all and welcome to another great weekend! Back it up to yesterday and word on the street is that Hels and I have been successful in getting a place to live! OH YEAH! YOU KNOW IT! Might not be exciting to you guys, but for us it means no more looking at crack dens… Lease starts 30th of July. Awesome!
Well the weekend is here and after a sweet day at where the work was minimal I’m sittin down onto my second beer soakin it all in.
Tonight looks like we’re headin to the Marquee or “Partius de Maximus ” we used to call it in the old Dorcas St days. Should be alright if not a swift kick in the pants from the past with the awesome retro downstairs where people in suits get drunk and start doing the ‘sprinkler’ or he ‘lawnmower’. My kinda scene! If that falls through Chrisp is doing the routine get fucked up on a Friday thing which is always a laugh.
Satday is probably breakfast on high street which is becoming a tradition with me lady now which is always fun. The rest of the day will be filled with something… off to a 21st that night and drinks at Mitch’s new place with Jax , Stu and Paul who all get back from QLD this weekend. Good to catch up anyway.
I’ll recap on Monday but till then I’ll post a quick bit from hornbag.net’s foreign corespondent Pete who is carving it up big style in Sweden and other miscellaneous countries…
Peace

Say you never get anywhere…

I’m currently listening to I Ran from the album The Edge Level 1 Disc 1 by A Flock Of Seagulls

Well Monday is here and my coffee percolator is not. Neither is the balsamic vinegar and some old sausages from Saturday nights dinner. I think we need Warrick Moss to solve the extraordinary happenings around here…
The rest of the weekend was pretty relaxed with James coming over for a BBQ and a few quiet drinks which led to some more IKEA shopping on Sunday.
Still no word on the new pad but ‘application pending’ so hopefully have some good news in the next couple of days.
Rest of this week is looking pretty routine but you never know.
Don’t forget the joker.

We built this city…?

I’m currently listening to We Built This City from the album Classic Rock ’80′s by Jefferson Starship

OK So if Jefferson Starship built this city on rock n roll, why is the song bad 80′s electokeyboardguitar pop?
If they built this city on a flock of seagulls, well then that’s a different story.

Think about it…

The Works

I’m currently listening to Safety Dance by Men Without Hats

Hello and welcome to the weekend everybody! It’s a lovely Satday arvo and I’ve just been to breakfast on High Street so I’m all greased up and full of caffeine!
Last night saw birthday celebrations x3 for Chrisp, Drew and Ocka. Started off at the Rose for dinner and a few brews and then off to Soak on Smith St for more brews. Awesome night was had by all. Met some great new people and caught up with few old faces which is always a winner.
Mitch is moving out of the castle today and is leaving a trail of destruction behind him but I guess all good things must come to an end….? Ha!
On the subject of moving Hels and I have applied for two places with one we inspected last night and looks like we have a winner! It’s a strange old place set in the heart of Northcote’s industrial area set on one of the steepest driveways I’ve ever seen! It’s quite bizarre… Only the best for us!
Hangin out for going shopping at IKEA so I can deck the new place out (once we find one and they decide to give it to us!) with awesome stuff you get to assemble yourself so you feel ‘one’ with your furniture…!
Keep it real.

Giggidy Giggidy

Quick one for ya all… This is the couch I want to buy when I move out. Saw it at Dare Gallery on the weekend. It’s pretty schmick!

Mayor This

I’m currently listening to Alright from the album Supergrass Is 10 (Best of 94 – 04) by Supergrass

Alright welcome to another hornbag.net weekend wrap up!
First off the blocks was Friday night at the Arty and what a night it was! Do yourself a favor kiddies and get your sweaty little hands on The Critics killer EP! These guys turn up the heat and buy do they know it! With a new guitarist carving it up all I can do is drool whenever I hear these guys from now on. Blueline Medic were as usual great however I will only give them a 2 outa 4 as they only played 2 outa 4 of my all time fav Blueline tracks. But still a great show. Also got a little taste of the new Away From Now sound and it sounds good. Really hangin out for the next brutal EP from these guys. On a whole a great night was had by all.
Satday was spent eating breakfast with the missus and then at the MCG seeing Richmond put up a good fight for half the match and then seeing them get reemed by Essendon for the next half. That’s enough of that…
Sunday went shopping for a hoodie and some clothes and stuff (I’ll do a whole separate post on this later…) and then looking for a new couch for when I move out. Saw a sweet one at Dare Gallery and so far is out in front! Headed over to Jax and Stu’s place for a Sunday night BBQ and a few episodes of Family Guy which is always a winner!
Monday came round WAY to quick but it always does so you just deal with it. And in dealing with it a few from work headed to the Cornish Arms for $10 steak and a pot which put the cherry on my Monday!
Rest of the week looks pretty tame same old same old… Hels is checkin out a couple more places tomorrow so we’ll see how things go… keep ya all posted.
That’s the weekend wrap-up, I’m hornbag.
Cheers and good night.
